Innovation Crete 5.0: Innovation initiatives and the bodies supporting them

Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub is pleased to invite you to the “Innovation Crete 5.0: Innovation initiatives and the bodies supporting them” conference, which will be held on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 March at the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

For the fifth year, the conference will adress key questions about innovation in Crete: How is innovation implemented in Crete today? Who can benefit? Which sectors of the economy are affected? Which organisations support the effort of teams and companies to innovate? What financial tools are there? What other forms of support are provided?.

The conference provides an opportunity to learn about Crete’s innovation initiatives from both local and central authorities. A total of 37 central authorities and funds are participating as speakers, aiming to share insights on local initiatives and engage with the pioneers of these actions.

The thematic focus of the conference includes funding in the initial stages, funds from the Innovation window, innovation support structures in early stages, Crete’s innovation hub and its role in the regional ecosystem, the involvement of international companies in Crete’s ecosystem, institutional support bodies for entrepreneurship, innovation in agrifood and health, European Digital Innovation Hubs, and the role of women in business leadership.

Simultaneously, 9 workshops will be held covering topics such as fundraising, intellectual property, smartHEALTH: Innovative Digital Health services, communication with web professionals for successful digital campaigns, outcomes of policy workshops, innovation in the circular economy, innovation in tourism, commercialisation strategies for research results, and sustainable entrepreneurship in Crete.

The conference is part of the Smart Attica EDIH activities and is co-organised by the NBG Business Seeds program of the National Bank of Greece, the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the PRAXI Network/FORTH, the Science Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C) / FORTH, the H2B HUB, the Bizrupt Innovation Calalyst, Hellenic Development Bank of Investments, Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of AUEB, Uni.Fund, Metavallon, the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, and Bayer Hellas.
