Digital innovation services for the Municipalities of Central Greece

Smart Attica EDIH, the first EDIH for Artificial Intelligence in Greece showcased its digital innovation services at the Cities Net General Assembly, held on Thursday 29 February 2024, in the city of Trikala, Greece. Cities Net, comprising the 10 main municipalities of Central Greece, has been actively involved in delivering innovative digital and pilot services for the past 15 years.

During the assembly, Mr. Nikos Sakkas, Mayor of Trikala, emphasised the importance of digital innovation services, which will be offered by the Greek network of the European Digital Innovation Hubs to the municipalities associated with Cities Net. Representatives from the municipalities of Veria, Volos, Grevena, Ioannina, Karditsa, Larissa, and Trikala actively participated in this informative session.

Among the EDIHs that presented their services were Smart Attica, digiGOV-innoHUB, Health Hub, and DigiAgriFood. Periklis Terlixidis, Smart Attica Manager, highlighted the hub’s mission to advance the digital maturity of public sector organisations and SMEs towards their digital transformation journey. The Greek network of the EDIHs will significantly support the municipalities in improving their processes, products, or services by granting access to expertise, innovation services, and assistance on environmental issues.
